i have a 99 stang automatic with 130miles on it also duals and a cai intake. about week ago i was driving and down my side street and i had to stop for another car since its a small street, when i hit the gas my car felt like there was no power for a minute but then it went back to normal and i heard a pop. now when i drive i feel alot of vibration coming from under my car and sometimes when im driving at like 70 i feel a vibration kinda grinding comding from under my car. also two weeks ago my exhaust manifold cracked and the shop welded it back up, it literally fell to the floor while i was driving, and all my problems began the day after i got that problem fixed. what could be causing this.. i need help fast....

Check the rear transmission mount, the engine motor mounts, and the driveline u-joints. You mentioned the cracked mainfold and vibration, and a worn/bad motor mount or transmission mount could cause that. The momentary loss of power and vibration could be the u-joints. Any of these are not to be taken lightly, and should be checked before you drive the vehicle again. You don't want to see the damage a loose driveline can do at 75 mph.

im goin to my mechanic tomorrow to see whats goin on, by just lookin at the u joints or the transmission mount, can you tell if they are worn out just by physical inspection? . i know the u joints dont cost too much money, what about the transmission mount or engine mount. the main place i feel the vibration sort of grinding is under my side of the car. the drivers side...
i just wanna get a general idea of what could be wrong and what amount of money this is gonna run me.. thanks for the help get back to me asap

could be a cat gone bad. go back to a muffler shop, maybe when it's up on the lift you can check other things if it's not the exhaust.

Yes, any good mechanic should be able to do a visual inspection on all of the things I mentioned. What you're looking for is simply rub spots or cracked/torn rubber on the mounts, and ANY play in the u-joint assemblies. I would also have them run the engine and drivetrain while on the lift, taking care to stay away from any rotating assemblies while the engine is running.

well i think i solved most of my problem today,my mechanic change my transmission mount since was basically collapsed and worn away, after driving away from the shop the car felt great. no virbrations or shakin what so ever, even felt smoother going through gears. kinda like the car feels after a good tune up. i talked to him about the loss of power and he said possibly trans mount but he changed my fuel filter and it was just gross. he told me also to run some chevron techron fuel injector cleaner through it. is there something better then cheveron such as lucus. any help would be good
